What Do I Eat?
Remember what you learned in grade school?
The USDA food pyramid is severely out of date, doesn't reflect the latest research on nutrition and weight control and might be contributing to America's obesity and health problems, according to Dr. Walter Willett, Chairman of the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health. In response, he and his colleagues developed “The Healthy Eating Pyramid” based on studies conducted over the past 10 to 15 years. The researchers found that subjects who ate according to these new guidelines had substantially reduced risks for major disease.
